Classic Car Garage kicks off on Yesterday Channel tonight – I might be in it!
Check out a brand-new classic car TV show that kicks off tonight on the Yesterday channel at 9pm. There’s 10 episodes and if you miss it on terrestrial TV, you can catch up with it on UKTV Play – and you know what else? If you watch very carefully, you might catch a bit of me on it too!
So what is the show about? Well it’s about master mechanic Colin Denton and his expert team including Amand, Mark, Nick and Gary.
In each episode they welcome classic car owners into their garage on what they call tinker days. And what those are about, is helping classic car owners to try and get involved in fixing and sorting out their own cars, but in an environment in which they can actually do that safely, with the tools they need and experts to guide them.
This is particularly interesting for someone like me for example – I love cars, know a lot about them, have been writing about them for over three decades, but ask me to change the oil or a spark plug and I wouldn’t know where to begin. I have no mechanical knowledge whatsoever. So of course they made me fix a problem on my own car!

So the show obviously focuses on niggly little jobs on cars ranging from modern classics like mine to vintage cars dating back to the 1930s. Which of course means there’s a lot of useful info and inspiration for amateur DIYers who might want to save a little cash and sort out minor problems on their classics themselves.
Cars features will include a Fiat 124, Nissan Figaro, 1931 MG M Sportsman Coupe, classic Jeep, 1963 Lotus Elan, Mk2 Golf GTI, Mercedes 280 CE, Austin-Healey 3000, Triumph Spitfire Ferrari F355 Spider and a Lamborghini Diablo SV.
Enjoy the show and let me know what you think of it. I’ll try to do an video with Colin soon too, to bring you more info about it, so stay tuned!
