How long would it take and how much would it cost to drive to your holiday?
Cancel your flight drive Instead! The airports are in chaos, the airlines are cancelling flights. So could you drive to your holiday instead? From here in the UK, that might just be possible. ChooseMyCar.com has put out a press release, claiming that it could be cheaper for a family of four, albeit take longer, to go to their European holiday by car.
But I’m a bit dubious about their figures. As much as £2600 to fly to Naples? 13 hours to get there? I mean the flight time is I think actually less than three hours. Though they claim these timings are door-to-door. This is what they claim.
Anyway quite aside from the flight stuff, it’s interesting to look at the driving costs and times – I hope they’ve factored in the higher cost of fuel, tolls and ferry costs. Interesting though, certainly suggesting it is viable to drive to your destination – or heck, just take a driving holiday. Touring long-distance by car sounds like fun – what car would you take?
