The police could get an electric car with supercar acceleration
Typically you might laugh at the thought of the police driving electric cars – you have done when you’ve seen the BMW i3 haven’t you? But the latest electric car being evaluated by UK police forces is the Ford Mustang Mach-E.
Now not only would this be the coolest Police EV, but get away drivers should be worried. Because while this liveried car is the regular range Mach-E, the one they would actually get, if they go ahead, is the Extended Range. Not only does that mean it can go nearly 400 miles before charging – so pretty much on par with a high performance petrol getaway car, but the Mach-E can accelerate from rest to 62mph in just 3.7 seconds – we’re talking supercar levels of acceleration. However here’s one fact that might help thieves with VERY fast cars – the top speed is only 111mph.
