10 Safest Car Brands [Not What You Thought]

I always though Mercedes and Volvo are the safest car brands – apparently not

The safest car brands on the roads – are not the ones you and I might have thought. Well not according to car leasing firm Vanarama.

Using data from Euro NCAP they worked out that Polestar and Tesla are the safest brands with an 87% overall score.

Yes, they’re both electric car makers, and only one is owned by Volvo which by the way is in joint fifth place with… you’re not gonna believe this… Hyundai’s luxury brand, Genesis.

Above them in third was actually Toyota’s luxury brand Lexus at 86%.

Meanwhile Mercedes, which I expected to at least be in the top 3 wasn’t even in the top 10. It’s at 12th, below Mitsubishi.

Subaru, BMW, Cupra, Jaguar and Mazda make up the top 10.

By the way – safest body style? The coupe? A sporty car? Tell that to insurers!
