Raising Speed Limits Could Save Lives

According to research from Car Lease Special Offers a third of motorists want a higher speed limit

Research released by Car Lease Special Offers indicates that raising speed limits could save lives and that a third of British motorists are in favour of increasing the motorway limit to 80mph, and some would even approve of Germany’s Autobahn-style derestricted highways.

Going quicker would save time, and potentially lives and a significant proportion of drivers agree the 70mph motorway limit is too low. But increasing it could also have consequences for our health and the planet’s survival as emissions and pollution would also go up – or could that be resolved?
