I chat to Aston Martin about the extraordinary new Victor
Taking the world by storm with a surprise reveal on Friday, yesterday I checked out the sensational and spectacularly cool Aston Martin Victor at the Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court.
Derived from the One-77 with elements of Vulcan and Valkyrie, this car was built entirely bespoke to a very VIP buyer’s unique specifications and requirements.
That meant a manual gearbox (I like this person already) and handing the V12 over to Cosworth to end up with the most powerful naturally aspirated engine out there at 836bhp and 606lb ft of torque. The owner paid reportedly well in excess of £2m – probably closer to £3m I’d guess.
Rear wheel drive, Brembo brakes, fully carbon body, race-car aero and downforce, finished in Pentland Green and satin carbonfibre with looks inspired by the Vantage of the 1970s and 80s.
Butch as hell and arresting as anything, it’s the most spectacular Aston Martin of modern times – and considering the beauties they put out, that’s really something. The only downside – there will only ever be one of these. Damn!
