Epic Petrolhead Vox Pop Answers!

Amazing quick-fire Q&A filmed at brilliant WLC Show & Shine 2024 Car Meet

Do I have a treat for you! This past weekend, I was at the amazing West London Classics Show & Shine 2024 event, mingling with fellow petrolheads and getting some fantastic vox-pop interviews. If you’re as passionate about cars as I am, you’re going to love this video.

Quick Fire Questions – The Highlights

What was your first car and why did you get it?
We had a nostalgic trip down memory lane with answers ranging from the classic Mark 1 Ford Escort to the reliable VW Polo. Plus a Ford Cortina Crusader, which was nicked off a dad!

What car do you own and what’s the best thing about it?
From Prowlers to Porsche 911 Turbos, the variety was staggering. The best part? Hearing what makes each car special to its owner. From reliving a misspent youth to how cars can fortify an owner’s self confidence and identity.

You win the lottery, what’s the first car you buy?
The answers were as diverse as the cars at the show. From a sensational Pagani Huayra BC Roadster to an storied classic like an AC Cobra and one that just wanted more mods for their old Suzuki Alto – everyone had their dream machines lined up.

Favourite car movie or TV show?
“If you don’t like Cars (Disney Pixar) then we have a problem!” exclaimed one enthusiast, while Fast and Furious was a clear favourite, along with “Gone in 60 Seconds” but iconic classics like Bullitt and Vanishing Point got mentions too.

Ultimate driving road?
Whether it’s the coastal roads of Arizona or the serene lanes around Virginia Waters, these petrolheads know where to find the best driving experiences.

Favourite driving song?
From Linkin Park’s adrenaline-pumping tracks to the smooth vibes of R&B, everyone has that perfect soundtrack for a drive. One memorable mention was Bhangra track Yaar Bolda.

Do you name your cars?
Yes, they do! From Penelope Pitstop to Squid, some owners had truly creative names for this precious rides.

Do cars have souls?
This is often a hotly debated topic! But for petrolheads there was a clear consensus, especially when it came to older and classic cars. One young boy had a very astute observation about how it’s the owner that imbues the car with a soul, or not.

If you could do a road trip with any celebrity who would it be?
We had some fun answers here, ranging from Jeremy Clarkson to Kevin Hart. Some even picked me!

A car or car brand you hate?
French cars, Teslas, and the new Ford Capri got mentioned. But the one that stood out? A much-adored Japanese cult classic that one petrolhead believed was overhyped – left me speechless!

What gives you road rage?
Slow drivers, cyclists, and 20 mph speed limits were top of the list.
