1960s Mini Moke goes EV

Electrified Fun & Glamour

The Mini Moke, based on the classic Mini and made famous in the 1960s as an alternative beach buggy for the glamour set (including The Beatles, The Beach Boys and Bridget Bardot) after initially having been created for military use, is back, and now it’s electric.

The new electric Moke, freshly redesigned from the ground up, and built in the UK now comes with power steering and regenerative braking. It will be available to order from the Hendy Group only as an electric vehicle from 1st January 2022, with first deliveries expected by the Summer. The open-top cars can reach 34mph in 4.5 seconds from rest, thanks to 33kW, equivalent to 44bhp, and a weight of just 800kg. It can go 89 miles on a single charge which takes four hours. Top speed is 62mph.
