Why Motor Shows Sucked!

Why did motor shows lose their excitement? Having spent years covering car launches, racing between press conferences and chasing headlines, I’ve seen how the magic started to fade. But the latest Paris Motor Show brought back something we’d been missing: cars that make you stop, stare and want a poster.

In these edited highlights from my TikTok Live, I discuss why manufacturers started abandoning traditional motor-show launches, how the internet changed everything, and whether spectacular concept cars can make these events matter again.

From the Citroën 2CV concept and Alpine A310 to Alfa Romeo’s striking show car and the Fiat Multiplay, there was finally plenty to get excited about. Now comes the obvious question: will manufacturers actually build the cars that caught our imagination?

I also get into the Porsche Mission S, the appeal of a sports car with fewer distractions, and Tesla’s flying Roadster spectacle. Incredible entertainment, certainly. How much of it will translate into something people can actually buy and use?

Plus, a viewer explains how one of my reviews helped them choose their next car, which leads to a chat about what I try to bring to every BrownCarGuy review.
