£100 million worth of hypercars and classics take over Sloane Street in a spectacular Salon Privé London preview
You don’t expect to stumble across £100 million worth of machinery on an ordinary London street… but then again, Sloane Street isn’t exactly ordinary, and Salon Privé doesn’t do things by halves. Ahead of the main concours event, Salon Privé Sloane Street London delivered a spectacular preview, transforming one of the capital’s most exclusive shopping destinations into a rolling showcase of hypercars, rare classics, and cutting-edge automotive art. For a few fleeting hours, Central London felt less like SW1 and more like a curated slice of Monaco during Grand Prix
And the cars? Properly special.
From the engineering purity of the Gordon Murray T.50 and its track-only T.50s Niki Lauda sibling, to the futuristic aggression of the Aston Martin Valhalla, this was a line-up that spanned generations and philosophies of performance. Then, just a few steps away, you’d find yourself face to face with icons of a different era, including a Jaguar E-Type ‘flat floor’ – one of the earliest and most desirable iterations of a car widely regarded as one of the most beautiful ever made.
Perhaps the biggest reminder of just how far the automotive world has come was the contrast between past and present. A Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder, now worth well into the millions, sat as a symbol of timeless elegance, while modern reinterpretations like the Automotive Artisans R33 and the Encor Series 1 proved that designers are still looking backwards for inspiration… just with far more performance at their disposal.
Then there were the surprises. The Nichols N1A, a lightweight, analogue throwback inspired by 1960s Can-Am racers, brought raw, unapologetic driving philosophy back into focus. Meanwhile, a reimagined electric Rolls-Royce Corniche quietly challenged expectations, delivering modern EV power wrapped in classic luxury.
And just when you thought you’d seen it all, more supercars would casually glide past, as if this were all perfectly normal.
That’s the magic of Salon Privé’s Sloane Street takeover. It’s not just a static display, it’s a living, breathing celebration of car culture, where history, innovation, and pure theatre collide in the most unexpected setting.
