‘Classic Car Garage’ Evolves into ‘Tinker Club’

An Exclusive Interview with Colin Denton about the hit TV show

In an exciting development for classic car enthusiasts, the beloved TV show “Classic Car Garage” is transforming into a new YouTube series called “Tinker Club.” I recently had the pleasure of catching up with Colin Denton, the charismatic presenter of the original series, to discuss this transition and what fans can expect from the new show. Here’s an exclusive look into our conversation.

From Classic Car Garage to Tinker Club

“Classic Car Garage” captivated audiences with its unique premise: a welcoming space where car enthusiasts could bring their vehicles, use professional tools, and receive expert guidance. The show was a hit on the Yesterday TV channel, and fans have been eagerly awaiting a second series. However, a second series has not been commissioned. So instead of another season, Colin and his team are launching “Tinker Club,” a dynamic new offshoot series on YouTube.

What is Tinker Club?

Tinker Club takes the essence of Classic Car Garage and adds a new twist. The show will still offer car enthusiasts the opportunity to work on their vehicles with professional equipment and expertise, but now, the team will be travelling across the UK to bring this experience to different locations.

“We’re taking the show on the road,” Colin explains. “We want to meet car owners and enthusiasts who can’t get to our main facility. By partnering with local garages, we’ll set up fully equipped workshops wherever we go.”

Locations and Logistics

The new series will feature multiple locations across the UK. Initial episodes have already been filmed in London, with future shoots planned for Oxford, Essex, and South London. Colin mentioned that they are always looking for new venues and are open to suggestions from the public.

“We’ve got three or four sites planned for this summer alone,” says Colin. “Each location will be fully equipped, thanks to our local partners, ensuring that we can provide the same high-quality experience as our main facility.”

Special Features: Ladies Day and More

One of the exciting new features of Tinker Club is the introduction of themed events, such as Ladies Day. This special day is dedicated to encouraging women to get involved in car maintenance and restoration.

“It was fantastic,” Colin recalls. “We had ladies in white overalls, ready to get their hands dirty. The enthusiasm was incredible, and they really got stuck in.”

Launch and Viewing

The first episode of Tinker Club is set to go live on YouTube in the second week of June. Fans can watch it anytime, making it more accessible than ever before. To ensure you don’t miss an episode, make sure to subscribe to the Tinker Club YouTube channel and hit the notification bell.

“Tinker Club takes the spirit of Classic Car Garage on the road, bringing car restoration to enthusiasts everywhere – it’s not just a show, it’s a movement.” – Colin Denton

Get Involved

Tinker Club is not just about watching; it’s about participation. If you have a facility that could host a Tinker Club event or if you need help with your classic car, the team wants to hear from you. Contact them through the Classic Car Garage website to express your interest.

“We were overwhelmed by the response to Classic Car Garage,” Colin says. “We had hundreds of people wanting to get involved. We’re hoping for the same enthusiasm with Tinker Club.”

Tinker Club promises to be a thrilling continuation of the spirit of Classic Car Garage. By taking the show on the road, Colin Denton and his team are making car restoration accessible to more people than ever. Whether you’re a seasoned car enthusiast or a newbie looking to learn, Tinker Club offers something for everyone.

Stay tuned for the launch of Tinker Club on YouTube, and be sure to follow their journey as they bring car restoration to a location near you.
