The safest new cars you can buy today
Safety organisation EURO NCAP has announced the top performing cars of the year.
The all-new Hyundai Ioniq 6 EV took best in class in the large family car category scoring 97% for adult occupant protection.
The GWM ORA Funky Cat Chinese EV took top honours for the small family car category, because – as I pointed out in my review – it is very well equipped as standard with lots of safety features.
The Tesla Model S was best in the Executive Car Category, and the Model Y was best in the small off-roader category – hmm.. is actually an off-roader though?
And the Wey Coffee 01 came out best in the large off-roader category. What is it? It’s an all-new plug-in hybrid luxury SUV again from China’s GWM.
It’s not available here yet, but is going on sale in Europe for about £50k. Expect it here by early 2024.
