What do they mean by ‘the era of private car use is well and truly over’?
A couple of weeks ago, SNP’s Net Zero Minister, Michael Matheson, said that the Scottish government is looking to cut down car usage by 20% by 2030. He went further, and this is also in his Strategic Transport Report, that the era of catering for unconstrained growth in private car use is well and truly over. WHAT?!
The extra cost burden will prevent careworkers from visiting those in need
The ULEZ expansion will hit NHS care workers the hardest. This will endanger lives even though saving and prolonging lives is supposedly the premise of the ULEZ Expansion according to London Mayor Sadiq Khan.
With the ULEZ Expansion for 2023 being a hot topic, I grabbed former Top Gear presenter, Motoring Expert and TV Personality, Quentin Wilson, as well Ian Plummer from Auto Trader, the most influential car classifieds organisation in the UK, to get their thoughts on the ULEZ Expansion. This was at the London EV Show, where I was the Conference Coordinator
And why this is terrible for those hit hardest by cost of living & classic car owners
It’s been confirmed today that London Mayor, Sadiq Khan’s plan to expand the ULEZ (ultra low emissions zone) to over the whole of the Greater London area, will go ahead from 29th August 2023 – that’s next year. This may affect you if you live in the outer London area and own a petrol car built before 2005 and a diesel car built before 2015.
This happened today at the luxury showrooms in Mayfair
This apparently happened earlier today – Climate Activists, Just Stop Oil, attacked Ferrari, Bugatti and Bentley Showrooms in Mayfair, London. Utterly moronic behaviour that isn’t going to help their cause at all. Here’s what I think.
Whatever the politics or the outcome, this is a massive milestone
At the rate at which we in Britain are going through our Prime Ministers, it’ll be a miracle if new PM, Rishi Sunak, lasts the week, never mind the month, or till Christmas and it’ll be an absolute shocker if he’s still there to fight the next election.
It appears as if the UK fuel crisis has finally ended. So what caused it? Just an overblown minor news story, or was there a deeper conspiracy behind it. Was it intended to create a high demand for surplus fuel that had accumulated during the lockdown, or was it to accelerate a shift to electric cars as drivers are put off by longer queues for fuel. I break it down and explain the real reason behind the so-called UK petrol-shortage.
Draconian New Car Rules in 2022 incl speed limiters
There is legislation coming into effect in July 2022 that will radically alter your liberties behind the wheel of a new car. These draconian new car rules will take advantage of all the electronic driver assist systems in our cars today, and will stop you speeding, force a breathalyser test before you can even start the car, and come to a halt at EVERY stop sign. It will enforce road rules in a way that has never been possible before and in the event of an accident, an on-board black box will reveal your exact actions during the incident. These rules will change everything about driving as we know it. As a motorist, and particularly as a car owner, this is potentially the most important video you’ll ever watch!
Rant: Race Disparities Report not a Rude Awakening, Just Damn Rude!
Thump! The sound of a government-commissioned 258-page report on racism in the UK hitting tables yesterday. Smack! The sound of a slap landing on the poker faces of the perpetrators of this piece of pernicious propaganda. Well, the slap didn’t happen, but it should have, repeatedly. It would have been deserved, repeatedly.
