How do you cope with electric luxury barges with super long bonnets, Maseratis making up mad names, boutique supercar companies parting the foolish rich from their faloos, meanwhile two of the most iconic cars celebrate big birthdays!
Welcome to Car Guy Therapy – your dose of motoring mayhem, eyebrow-raising concepts, and proper petrolhead perspective. We will dish out the latest car news, drop a few truth bombs, and maybe help you make sense of the bizarre world the automotive industry’s driving us through. Watch the video below now!
Bentley EXP 100 GT Concept – Lady Penelope, Is That You?
So Bentley’s just dropped a concept car. The EXP 15. And before you say, “hang on, haven’t I seen this silhouette before?” – yes, yes you have. It bears more than a passing resemblance to Jaguar’s controversial Type 00 concept. That one that looked like it belonged in Thunderbirds.
Now, I’ll admit – the kid in me likes it. But the adult in me, the one that occasionally opens spreadsheets and files taxes, has questions. Why the mile-long bonnet on an electric car? What’s under there – a makeup studio? A bedroom? Surely not batteries – they live in the floorpan!
It’s as if Bentley’s designers stumbled across a Lego set and thought “Blocky good!” They ended up with a box of blandness that’s trying way too hard.

Singer’s 911 Reimagining – Is That It?
Normally, when Singer does a Porsche 911 restomod, the petrolhead internet erupts into joyous, drooling euphoria. But their latest tribute to the 1980s Carrera Coupe has me going ‘meh’.

Don’t get me wrong, I adore Singer’s craftsmanship. But this one? It makes one fatal mistake. It tries to emulate and improve on the ultimate icon of the 911 range – the 1980s Turbo (930). For me the very epitome of what a 911 is. It’s a car that so closely flirts with perfection that… well… it can’t really be improved upon. So dressing up a 964 with a rounded off pastiche of the perfect Porsche, just isn’t going to do it.
Frankly I see this, and all I can think is – I want the glorious Miami Vice and mullet OG.

Maserati MC20 ‘MCPURA’ – Sorry, What?
This one genuinely made me laugh out loud. Maserati has revealed the updated MC20, now named… wait for it… MCPURA.
Sounds like a cross between a moisturiser and a foul-tasting vegan-friendly milkshake. It’s like they mashed McLaren and Ferrari’s Purosangue and chucked in a vowel. Lovely car though – 620bhp Nettuno V6, butterfly doors, sub-3 second 0-62. But still… MCPURA?!

Lanzante 95/59 – A Million-Pound McMess?
Then there’s the Lanzante 95/59, a tribute to a McLaren F1 GTR Le Mans win no one remembers – unless you’re a motorsport anorak. Essentially, it’s a rebodied McLaren with a tuned engine, three seats, and a £1 million price tag. Yup, a million quid. For a custom McLaren tribute car from a brand most people have never heard of. Hey, good for them. There’s enough billionaire numptys to snap up the 59 on offer and stick them in a static collection. Plus a fool and their money… etc.

50 Years of BMW 3 Series – Missing My E30
On a happier note, BMW is celebrating 50 years of the 3 Series – one of the greatest cars ever made. I still miss my E30 like a limb. And the E46? Absolute perfection. Sporty, usable, modern but analogue – the last of the truly great 3ers?
Drop your favourite 3 Series in the comments.
50 Years of Lotus Esprit – A Real-Life Spy Car
And lastly – cue Bond theme – we’re raising our glasses to the Lotus Esprit, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. If you grew up in the ’70s or ’80s, this was the dream car. A wedge-shaped wonder that turned into a submarine. And guess what? A stunning lineup of ten rare Esprits will be on display at Hampton Court Concours this September.
I’ll be there – drooling, dreaming, and probably quoting Roger Moore “can you swim?”

Over to You:
Which concept has you scratching your head? Would you pay a million for a rebodied McLaren? What’s your ultimate 3 Series? Let me know in the comments – and don’t forget to hit like, share and subscribe.
