2025 Enfield Pageant of Motoring Walkaround

Bonkers Builds, Proper Classics & Brilliant Characters!

Some car events are about shiny bodywork and concours polish. Others are about dyno runs, burnouts and drifting lunacy. And then there’s the Enfield Pageant of Motoring – a gloriously eccentric celebration of British car culture at its most charming, cosmoplitan and utterly captivating.

Now in its 46th edition, the 2025 Enfield Pageant of Motoring once again took over Enfield Playing Fields, and I was there to soak it all in.

It’s Not Just About the Cars – It’s About the Characters!

Sure, there were hundreds of stunning cars on display – from mint condition Ford Capris and Rover SD1s, to a terrifyingly authentic zombie police car (don’t ask, just watch the video). But what really makes Enfield Pageant special is the people.

I caught up with Colin Denton from The Tinker Club – always a top bloke and full of passion for keeping classic motors alive. Ran into a couple of fans of the channel (always humbling and brilliant – thank you!), and even had a chuckle with a cracking Uncle Albert impersonator straight out of Only Fools and Horses.

The Cars That Caught My Eye

Rover 3500 “Bulldog” – possibly the most bonkers retro audio setup I’ve seen in years. This beast was fully loaded with period stereo systems, including a glorious working 8-track player. If hi-fi nostalgia could be weaponised, this car would be a WMD.

Suzuki SJ Samurai Off-Roader – Imagine stripping down a plucky little Suzuki to the bare bones, then building it back up into a proper off-road bruiser with oversized wheels, custom suspension, and a roof rack ready for the apocalypse. The builder even admitted it serves no purpose… other than being brilliant fun to create. That, my friends, is what car culture is all about.

There was also live musicdancing, and a few American motors thrown in for good measure. And yes – autojumble stalls galore, if you fancied a rummage for that missing switchgear from your Allegro.

Why Enfield Pageant Still Matters

This show is a fundraiser for the Whitewebbs Museum of Transport, so every ticket, burger and raffle ticket goes toward preserving motoring heritage for future generations. This year, the funds are earmarked for installing a lift in the museum, helping improve accessibility for all visitors.

It’s grassroots. It’s community-led. It’s unapologetically British. It’s worth supporting!

If you’re into classic carsoddball creationsfriendly banter, and meeting petrolheads who love their motors just because, you need to put Enfield Pageant on your calendar. It’s not about being posh, it’s about being passionate.
