Why Insurance is So Expensive & Secrets to Get Lower Premiums! [With Motor Claim Guru]
In this very special podcast, I talk to The Motor Claim Guru, Tim Kelly, who brings an extraordinary wealth of experience and inside knowledge of the Insurance Industry. We discuss the big fire at the Luton Airport car park that has destroyed over 1500 cars according to the latest reports. More importantly, he reveals the secrets of how to reduce your annual insurance premium and reveals the astonishing inner workings of how insurance companies really work and calculate your premiums. Plus could a classic car actually reduce your insurance costs?

Excellent reportage as always, Shahzad. What a very interesting and informative expert you interviewed! Please do interview Tim Kelly again sometime (I certainly would like to talk to him about some of the dodgy behaviour of Insurance Companies). Maybe time to have all this information passed onto the Commons Select Committee on Transport Matters as well as the Select Committee on Consumer Affairs. Increasing costs on insurance equals more motorists driving round without insurance (human nature!).
LV (which underwrites Age UK who I am with with my trusty Mondeo Estate) is not the only one quitting the motor insurance world, when I asked for a quotation a while ago I was informed they will no longer deal with motor insurance too!
One way to counter these so-called ‘cost and price increases’ would be for some party (political or public, probably the latter like for example Reform UK) to make it very publicly known one of it’s manifesto policies will be either insurance companies cease trying it on and reduce prices accordingly or the party when it becomes the next government seriously will implement nationalisation of all insurance companies. You can bet your pounds sterling that these companies, after thundering apoplexy and what the Victorians would call ‘an attack of the vapours’ will somehow find they can do price reductions if a government digs it’s heels in and stands up for the motorist (and voter!).
Keep up the great work, Shahzad.
Regards,
Steve.
