There’s a dirty little secret lurking beneath the glossy brochures, ambient lighting, massage seats and giant touchscreens of many modern luxury cars. Once the warranty expires, some of them transform from premium dream machines into financial hand grenades with the pin already halfway out. And now we’ve got the data to prove it. The newly released 2026 Warrantywise Reliability Index has analysed a staggering 1.6 million UK repair data points gathered between 2023 and 2026 from vehicles aged three to 15 years old on extended warranty plans across Britain.

Right, so you might remember that I made a couple of videos in the last few months about how the next generation, younger people, are not getting into motoring as much as our generation did. And I’ve been quite fair in saying that, considering the cost and everything involved in the process, it does make perfect sense. But hold on, because there’s some new evidence that’s just come to light, thanks to Auto Trader, that might make me rethink that stance. Why 2030 ICE New Car Sales Ban Won’t Work in the UK

18112020 #BCGBulletin – Petrol and Diesel (ICE) new car sales to be banned in Britain from 2030 – today the government has confirmed what the news announced a few days ago when I recorded this video. Hybrid cars will be allowed to continue to 2035, but otherwise manufacturer can only sell electric cars – this is supposed to happen in a mere 9 years.
