Oh Lord – let this be my Groundhog Day! No less than NINE iconic cars driven at the annual Southern Group of Motoring Writers (SGMW) Heritage Day at Beaulieu National Motor Museum. And some I never got around too: Classic Mini, Citroen Traction Avant, Vauxhall Viscount, Classic Ford Transit van, Citroen BX GTI, plus a couple of hot BMW M cars, the Bullitt edition new Ford Mustang, and yet still more.

This is more than just a car, this is Lotus finally getting back into the hyperleague of exoticars where it truly belongs. Not since the Esprit, has the British sports car company been able to face down anything from Ferrari, Lamborghini and latterly Pagani, Koenigsegg, and even McLaren.

ThrowBackThursday Remembering the Lotus Etna Concept!

As Lotus teases a new hypercar, I remember seeing its show-stopper from the mid-80s!

#ThrowBackThursday – Lotus cars is revealing and teasing a name and details of its forthcoming Type 130 all-electric hypercar, the Evija – a very clever name as it has ‘EV’ in it and pretty much reads ‘Alive’ backwards – at the Goodwood Festival of Speed today.

My first car review

You see? I was cute… way back in the 1970s!

#ThrowBackThursday to the 1970s and my first car review – actually my first car! I loved this thing, though I’m still not quite sure what it was meant to be. I used to think it was a Morris Minor and the resemblance is certainly there, but it’s not quite right. Anyway I can remember being fascinated by and in love with cars as far back as I can remember anything, despite the fact that no one in my family had any interest, professional or otherwise, in cars and motoring. How about you – where did your interests and passions first arise from? Oh and by the way, yes I am wearing a matching tie. LOL!!
