I’ve been flat out trying to keep up with, and failing to do so, all the news coming out of the Geneva Motor Show this year – except it wasn’t because the show was cancelled. Which is even sadder now that we realise how many new products and concepts were being introduced by main manufacturers alone, never mind smaller companies. Here I run through some of them. Fiat has revealed an all-new Fiat 500 which, despite similar looks, is a clean sheet design because it will only be available as an electric car.
However some fortunate few manage to retain that adorability even as they mature. In the car world, that’s the 500X. If every time you happen upon a Fiat 500 you just want to pick it up and cuddle it, then you’ll like its bigger brother, the 500X. Okay, you may not want to pick it up – it looks firmly within its puppy-fat phase – but you’ll want to pull its cheeks (fenders) and pat it on the head (roof).
Check out my review of the Fiat 500X – this or a Jeep Renegade? Who would buy this? Let me know what you thought of the review. Thanks!

Remember Rhino the hamster-in-a-ball who is a fan of, and then befriends, Bolt the supposed superdog in the 2008 Disney movie? Rhino is tiny and tubby, but a powerhouse of passion, puissance and pluck; naive about the world, unshakeable in self-belief, and unconcerned about any notion of conventionality.
That’s who this crazed and not-so-cuddly-and-cute, Fiat Abarth 595 Competizione, reminds me of.
Written review coming soon – stay tuned.
