Talking about electric cars in UK, UAE, India and Pakistan

Finally needed to charge up the Ford Mustang Mach-E I have on test after a hard run this morning, went InstaLive and ended up chatting to ‘EV-angelist’ Salman Hussain about electric cars in the UK, UAE and even in Pakistan. Good fun, great info and more details on life with an EV Mustang. Follow BCGFordMachE

Electric Cars are Not the Answer

but a Unique Racing Toyota Corolla could be!

Electric cars are not the answer to our future transpor requirements according to the world’s biggest car maker. They have an alternative, in the form of a racing Toyota Corolla with a conventional engine that’s powered by hydrogen. Unlike most manufacturers, Toyota are not jumping on the EV bandwagon. And there’s clear reasoning for it. I look at the evidence and the pros and cons of a future not wholly dependent on electric cars.

That meant sitting in the Morrison’s car park at a Genie Point charger for an hour. So I went live online. And ended up with a guest – my good buddy Partha in India.

Citroen Ami Review

Is this a 21st century Citroen 2CV, is it genius, is it even a car?

The Citroen Ami is like no other car. And that’s partly because it isn’t quite a car. Technically it’s a Quadricycle – a four-wheeled vehicle with limitations on performance (it can’t exceed 28mph) and weight (it must be well under 500kg). In many European countries these can be driven without a driving licence; in France from just 14-years old. In the UK you need a scooter licence at minimum – so you’ve got to have passed your compulsory basic training.

With styling inspired by the classic Citroen GS, it’s a kinda crossover yet is as much a rival for a Toyota Corolla or Ford Focus as it is for C-HR and Kuga. Citroen give you one car where others may offer two – including within its own family group as this shares its platform with the Peugeot 208 and 2008.
