I get drawn and talk about getting into trouble with Toyotas
Ian Banu-Cook of PopBangColour draws me and my 1984 Celica Supra as I remember back to the early 90s when I had this car, and we talk Toyota past and present.
Real world test to see what it’s like to take an electric vehicle on a longer drive
Yesterday I had to make a work trip that involved a round-trip of over 220 miles. The car I used was a brand new MG ZS EV electric car press vehicle I’ve got for review (stay tuned for that at the later date) with a stated range of 163 miles. So how was this EV roadtrip?
We leave letters lying on the floor mat for a couple of days before touching them. Coming back from shopping involves up to an hour of anti-bac wiping and washing, right down to the last piece of fruit and vegetable. Outside: face masks on, sanitisers on standby, and proximity alert wound up to maximum – ‘hey, back off buddy!’ shouts my imaginary proxy self upon infringement, deliberate or otherwise, of my immediate two-metre surround space. In reality I usually just turn away and step back.
This crazy Year’s Key Motors and my Best Drives of 2020
If there’s one thing people came to realise again in this crazy year, it’s that cars are good. If you’re stuck in a pandemic and fear the public transport network is too risky to use, plus ubers are icky because eew – other people have been in there before you, coughing and breathing all over the upholstery – then guess what: it’s great to have your own car.
What’s it actually like to run the all-electric new Honda E for a few days?
I had the all-new baby electric Honda E for a few days on test, and I will be doing a full review on the car as usual, but seeing as this is the first time I spent more than a day with a full EV, I thought it would be interesting to blog the experience. Videos below!

Watch till the end to see Bond’s DB5 take me by surprise by deploying the smoke screen!
Although known as a classic car concours d’elegance, the Salon Prive is also an opportunity for premium and boutique car makers to launch and showcase their latest products. So this year they even organisers put on a special day just for media and that’s when we were there.

Via Car Magazine and Motoring Middle East – beating the odds
A few days ago, Motoring Middle East, which is an automotive news media channel across YouTube and social media platforms, but based in Dubai, celebrated its 9th birthday. Why is that significant? Because in 2011, along with Imthishan Giado, I co-founded ‘MME’, as we came to call it.
The Amazing Journey from selling old mags in India to PR for FCA in Dubai
In this episode I chat to my good buddy, Neville Darukhanawalla. A self-confessed automotive buff, Neville Jal Darukhanawalla has been associated with cars and bikes since his school days in the late 1980s. A two-time national champion, racing scooters in his native India, he has raced in different forms of motorcycle sport – road racing, motocross, rallies, flat track, trials and what have you. A massive fan of Formula One and MotoGP – in fact, of all forms on motor racing, he believes that racing improves the breed.
