How is the cost of living crisis impacting motorists?

The cost of living crisis is having an impact on cars and motorists, affecting 70% of drivers motoring habits, according to a Kwik fit survey. Over 33% one-third have cut down on non-essential car journeys those driving petrol or diesel cars are twice as likely to have cut down compared to drivers of electric cars or hybrids.

2022 electric cars charge up sales charts

Meanwhile diesel sales decline dramatically

Electric car sales are taking off, while diesel car sales are in the ditch. Last year EV sales were up 106% according to Leasing.com, while demand for diesels sales plunged 7%. Pure electric cars alone accounted for a 101% increase, and nearly a third of all Leasing.com’s enquiries are for EVs, up over 10% from the year before. Which ones do people want? The most popular were Tesla Model 3, Volkswagen ID.3, Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the Hyundai Kona.
