XPeng launches the G6 in the UK, bringing high-tech EV innovation to take on Tesla and shake up the market
XPeng, the innovative Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has officially launched its G6 mid-size SUV in the UK, marking a significant milestone in the brand’s European expansion. The G6, designed to rival established models like the Tesla Model Y, offers British consumers a blend of advanced technology, impressive performance, and sustainable mobility.
XPeng G6: A New Contender in the UK EV Market
The XPeng G6 is built on the company’s latest SEPA 2.0 platform, featuring an 800-volt architecture that enables super-fast charging capabilities. Drivers can charge the battery from 10% to 80% in less than 20 minutes, providing up to 354 miles of WLTP driving range. The SUV boasts a sleek design, a spacious interior with high-quality materials, and a suite of comfort-enhancing features, including ventilated and heated seats, a panoramic glass roof, and a premium 960W audio system with 18 speakers.

XPeng’s commitment to innovation is evident in its proprietary operating system, Xmart OS, and its advanced driver assistance system, XPILOT, which offer users a seamless and intelligent driving experience.
XPeng’s Expansion into the UK and Europe
The launch of the G6 in the UK is part of XPeng’s broader strategy to establish a strong presence in Europe. The company has appointed International Motors Ltd (IML) as its official distributor in the UK and plans to introduce an initial network of 20 dealers to support sales. Beyond the UK, XPeng has been expanding its footprint across Europe, with market launches in countries such as Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and Portugal. The company aims to be present in over 60 markets by the end of 2025, underscoring its ambition to become a global leader in the electric vehicle industry.
In addition to the G6, XPeng has plans to introduce other models to the UK market, including the seven-seat X9 ‘starship’ and the G9 SUV, further diversifying its product lineup to cater to a wide range of consumer preferences.
