First Look at the Twin-Turbo Beast!
After 14 years, we have a new Nissan Patrol! The seventh-generation Y63 model has been unveiled in Abu Dhabi, a fitting tribute to the Patrol’s rich history and strong connection with the Middle East. In a market where the Patrol is revered almost as much as its biggest rival, the Toyota Land Cruiser, Nissan has made sure this all-new version doesn’t disappoint.
A Bold New Look
The 2025 Nissan Patrol has taken on a more rugged and muscular appearance. The new V-motion grille is wider and integrates seamlessly with the body, giving the SUV a strong front-end presence. The C-shaped LED headlights with Adaptive Driving Beam tech provide improved visibility in all conditions. In true modern fashion, the rear of the car features a stylish full-width light bar, further enhancing its presence on the road.
Despite its imposing size, the Patrol retains its off-road capability, sitting on large 22-inch alloy wheels for higher ground clearance and better performance over rough terrain. With seven exterior colour choices, including four two-tone options, buyers have more personalisation than ever before.
A New Era in Power
The biggest news for petrolheads is the end of the 5.6-litre V8 and the arrival of a powerful 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6. Producing 425HP and 700Nm of torque, this is Nissan’s most powerful Patrol yet, boasting a 7% increase in power and a 25% boost in torque over the outgoing V8. Paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, the twin-turbo engine promises strong performance, whether navigating the city or blazing through the desert.
For those who prefer a simpler setup, Nissan also offers a 3.8-litre naturally aspirated V6 with 316HP and 386Nm of torque. Both engines maintain the Patrol’s legendary off-road prowess, with its body-on-frame construction and advanced adaptive air suspension system ensuring it can tackle anything in its path.

Tech and Comfort Galore
Inside, the 2025 Patrol brings luxury and tech to a whole new level. A massive 28.6-inch monolith display dominates the dashboard, providing navigation, infotainment, and vehicle information at your fingertips. Rear passengers aren’t left out either, with optional dual 12.8-inch screens for their entertainment.
The interior is a blend of comfort and craftsmanship. Quilted leather seats offer eight-way adjustment, with optional massage functionality to enhance long-distance journeys. For audiophiles, the Klipsch 12-speaker premium sound system ensures crystal-clear sound, no matter where you are.
A cool new feature is the Biometric Cooling system, which uses infrared sensors to monitor passenger body temperatures and adjust the climate control accordingly – perfect for the hot Middle Eastern climate.
Advanced Off-Road and Safety Technology
The Patrol is not just about luxury; it’s still a serious off-roader. With six drive modes (including sand, rock, and mud/rut), drivers can easily adapt to any terrain. The 4WD transfer mode interlock system makes switching between modes smoother than ever, so you’re always ready for whatever the journey throws at you.
Safety has also taken a big leap forward. The Patrol is equipped with Nissan ProPILOT tech, which includes adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist. It’s designed to take the stress out of driving, especially on long trips. Plus, features like Panorama View and Invisible Hood View provide better situational awareness when navigating tricky landscapes, both on and off the road.
The introduction of seven airbags, including knee airbags for the first time, ensures that the new Patrol isn’t just powerful and luxurious – it’s safer than ever.
What Does This Mean for the Middle East?
The global debut in Abu Dhabi highlights just how important the Nissan Patrol is to the Middle East. Nissan’s President and CEO, Makoto Uchida, emphasised the car’s deep connection with the region, where it’s been an off-road staple for decades. The fact that Nissan decided to unveil this vehicle globally from the UAE shows their commitment to maintaining this relationship.
Despite the shift to more sustainable technologies in the automotive industry, Nissan has stuck with a petrol engine for the Patrol – a smart move. Off-road adventures in the Middle East often involve long distances in extreme heat, making the reliability of a petrol engine crucial. While hybrids and EVs are growing in popularity, the 2025 Patrol sticks to what it does best: combining rugged reliability with luxury and modern tech.
Staying on Patrol!
The 2025 Nissan Patrol is a true blend of heritage and innovation. With a new, more powerful twin-turbo engine, enhanced off-road capabilities, and a luxurious, tech-filled interior, it continues the Patrol legacy in style. Whether you’re a long-time fan or new to the world of the Patrol, this new model is sure to impress both on and off the road.
