As Kish shared, “I moved over to Dubai a few years ago and my background is actually in IT and tech. I’ve always just been a classic car lover. There was one thing missing here in the Middle East – a really good platform for these collector-type cars. So, Collecting Motors was born.”
Kish’s initial idea was to create a classified marketplace where enthusiasts could buy and sell classic cars. But as he analysed the industry, he discovered an even greater opportunity. Today, Collecting Motors not only serves as an online classified marketplace but also offers investment advisory services. Kish and his team help high-net-worth individuals and family offices invest in classic cars, turning these timeless beauties into profitable assets. “We work with family offices, quite a few royals, and our main bread and butter now is investment advisory,” Kish explained.

In our chat, Kish opened up about the unique challenges and rewards of operating in the UK and UAE classic car markets. The UK, with its rich history of car collecting, offers a vast array of classic vehicles and a mature market. In contrast, the UAE is a burgeoning hub for car enthusiasts, with hidden gems waiting to be discovered. Kish’s keen eye for these opportunities has allowed Collecting Motors to thrive in both regions. “Originally, the business started in Dubai, but we quickly saw potential in the UK market because of its long history of car collecting,” said Kish.
One of the standout aspects of Collecting Motors is its selectivity. Kish is passionate about curating a collection of cars that aren’t just rare, but also carry a story. From 80s and 90s icons to beautifully preserved project cars, the platform caters to collectors who appreciate the nostalgia and history behind each vehicle. “I want to put cars on there which give people that nostalgia but cars that you don’t really see anymore on the road,” Kish said.

The market for these cars has seen significant growth, and Kish’s knowledge helps clients navigate this complex landscape. He highlighted the increasing value of models like the Ferrari F40, which is poised to skyrocket as it approaches its 40th anniversary. “The F40 is going to turn 40 in three years, and you can imagine the party Ferrari will throw. It’s literally just going to double in value,” Kish enthused.
Kish’s insights are invaluable for investors looking to make informed decisions and maximise their returns. “We advise clients on which cars to buy, what to hold, how long to hold them for, and what’s coming up in the market,” he explained.
