Alfa Romeo Stelvio Veloce Review

It’s not the SUV you need, it’s the SUV you deserve

This isn’t my first time reviewing an Alfa Romeo Stelvio. I reviewed both the 510bhp Quadrifoglio and 280bhp 2.0-litre turbocharged four cylinder when they first came out about four years ago. For the latest model year generation, the Stelvio has received a few enhancements. But here’s a sage piece of advice: never pass up an opportunity to drive a Stelvio. By the end of this piece, or if you watch my video review, you’ll realise why.

2021 Jaguar F-Pace SVR Review

Make the most of this beast of an SUV while you still can!

Less than four seconds, 3.8 to be exact. That’s how quickly you’ll reach 60mph having started from rest in a Jaguar F-Pace SVR. Your jaw will have dropped in shock, you’ll forget to breath, your neck will be pinned against the headrest and a your ears will be pummelled by savage guttural roar. Meanwhile your partner will be berating you to slow down, the children will be whooping and laughing in the back, and the wide-eyed dog will be slammed into the back window confused as to how that tree he just had his eye on, shrank so quickly.

2021 Citroen C4 and e-C4 Review

Best of all worlds for the family in a choice of ICE or EV

The all-new Citroen C4 is a little perplexing  at first acquaintance. With styling inspired by the classic Citroen GS, it’s a kinda crossover yet is as much a rival for a Toyota Corolla or Ford Focus as it is for C-HR and Kuga. Citroen give you one car where others may offer two – including within its own family group as this shares its platform with the Peugeot 208 and 2008.

Ford Ranger Raptor Review

The Ranger Raptor is the Ford Mustang of the pickup world, and I’ll prove it.

This is the Ford Ranger Raptor – I like to give it its full name wherever possible, because there is of course, The Raptor, (no, not the theropods from the Cretaceous Period) I mean the big bad Ford F-150-based monster pickup. That comes with a 450bhp, 3.5-litre V6, though not to the UK, it doesn’t.

Lexus UX 250h Review

The baby Lexus SUV maintains luxury and quality, but is this the one to get?

Lexus has loyal customers, particularly in the SUV range. They appreciate the quality, comfort and high spec of the luxury range in the Toyota group. This is the baby SUV from Toyota’s luxury brand. The UX (Urban Explorer) shares its platform with the best-selling Corolla, Prius and most significantly the CH-R compact SUV. It has the same wheelbase as theCH-R, but is slightly longer and wider.

Peugeot 2008 SUV Review

It’s the compact SUV brother to the 208 – but should you get this instead?

The Peugeot 2008 was not released in 2008 as some have suggested… er… the ‘00’ is part of Peugeot’s SUV taxonomy. Apply logic and it follows that the 2008 is the SUV companion to the 208 hatchback range. Not that it’s obvious from the looks. The SUV is a taller, more upright and bluff design, that nonetheless retains Peugeot’s family styling cues including the distinctive and aggressive face that sports either fangs (as I see them) or claws (as the manufacturer presumably would like you to perceive).

Kia Sorento Review

It’s big, it’s bold, it’s…bravely priced!

This is the all-new fourth generation Kia Sorento 7-seater large SUV. Forget the previous editions, some of which weren’t the best looking SUVs around let’s be honest. Forget what you remember of the quality of the early models. Forget delicate tech and fragile fabrics of history past. In fact forget everything you thought you knew about the Kia Sorento. Prepared to be wowed by the Korean car company’s latest offering.
