I’m going to be making a very special exception in this review. Normally I don’t like plug-in hybrids. What’s the point? Electric cars must be plugged-in of course, but it’s frankly a nuisance. Hybrids should have the advantage of self-charging. So why put up with the hassle of plugging them in too? Dunno.

I reviewed both the 510bhp Quadrifoglio and 280bhp 2.0-litre turbocharged four cylinder when they first came out about four years ago. For the latest model year generation, the Stelvio has received a few enhancements. But here’s a sage piece of advice: never pass up an opportunity to drive a Stelvio. Your jaw will have dropped in shock, you’ll forget to breath, your neck will be pinned against the headrest and a your ears will be pummelled by savage guttural roar. Meanwhile your partner will be berating you to slow down, the children will be whooping and laughing in the back, and the wide-eyed dog will be slammed into the back window confused as to how that tree he just had his eye on, shrank so quickly.

This is the baby SUV from Toyota’s luxury brand. The UX (Urban Explorer) shares its platform with the best-selling Corolla, Prius and most significantly the CH-R compact SUV. It has the same wheelbase as theCH-R, but is slightly longer and wider.
Continue reading “Lexus UX 250h Review”The Peugeot 2008 was not released in 2008 as some have suggested… er… the ‘00’ is part of Peugeot’s SUV taxonomy. Apply logic and it follows that the 2008 is the SUV companion to the 208 hatchback range. Not that it’s obvious from the looks. The SUV is a taller, more upright and bluff design, that nonetheless retains Peugeot’s family styling cues including the distinctive and aggressive face that sports either fangs (as I see them) or claws (as the manufacturer presumably would like you to perceive).
