If you’ve only just managed to get your head around McLaren’s unique model range structure, go full face-palm now, because the arrival of recent new offerings from the supercar maker signal that’s all about to change. So here then is the McLaren 620R which the company says concludes its Sports Series lineup which featured the 570, 600 and from which was also spun a pure race car in the form of the 570S GT4.

Convertibles and roadsters still have life in them yet – you all have to go tell BMW

This BMW exists thanks to Toyota. Yep! BMW has had the Z1, the Z3 and even the Z8. Then they replaced the Z3 with the Z4, which subsequently got a successor. Soon though, the Munich massive lost interest and were looking to send the Zs to sleep permanently – ‘nobody buys roadsters anymore’ came the edict from the bean-counter department.

Here’s a Vauxhall film made around 20 years ago which shows the breadth of Vauxhall’s heritage and its sporting endeavour. It was resent out today with a press release series remembering the manufacturer’s past iconic cars. Today was the turn of the Vauxhall C-10 ‘Prince Henry’ dubbed ‘The World’s First Sports Car’.
