Back in the day, I loved this thing. As a sci-fi fan, the Porsche 928’s sleek, rounded, pod-like aesthetic appealed to me. It’s astonishing and hard to believe, frankly, that the Stuttgart sports car company released this futuristic V8-powered 2+2 GT way back in 1977 – 47 years ago! Perhaps less surprisingly, it had an incredibly long production run of 18 years right up to 1995, and even today, it looks entirely contemporary and in no way dated at all!
Great chat with Dubai’s biggest Supercar Vlogger, Ali Al Hamoudi, who was back in London yesterday with Nissan for the Formula E race. I’ve known him since he first started out and now he’s got a fantastic 8 million followers across his multiple platforms. Some of the links are given below. I catch up with my old Dubai buddy, PR professional, Tom Conway-Gordon in the Ultimate Podcast Machine – which of course is my 1989 BMW 325i E30. It’s black, and Tom runs a car fan Instagram Page – AnyColourSoLongAsItsBlack So while he was keen to see and snap the E30, I took him for a drive and a chat!
Recent events got me thinking… got me down… got me a little gloomy… and naturally led to thoughts of death and legacy.
