Here’s a chat with Noel Willcox, a business owner who successfully challenged TFL (Transport for London) over fines received for entering the Low Emission Zone (LEZ). Noel argued that the signage was unclear and consequently illegal, and the court agreed. The Conservative Party has just finalised its shortlist of three finalists trying to get the party’s nomination for the Mayoral election next year (2 May 2024). The winning candidate will be announced on 19 July after a series of hustings and ballot of party members. I thought I’d take this moment to take a look at all the major known current candidates we have vying for the position of the next Mayor of London, and where they stand on ULEZ.
In my latest ULEZ News Update, I look at the RAC report that reveals 700,000 cars will be impacted by the ULEZ Expansion, the Mayor’s Superloop, or should that be superloopy nuts plans to rescue all those who won’t be able to afford to run their non-ULEZ cars, plus details of the next big protest!
Since I’ve been doing a lot of content on the forthcoming ULEZ expansion (see links below) someone kindly tipped me off that a protest was going to be staged outside the headquarters of Transport for London (TFL) today. I headed down there, perhaps to lend my support, but more to see if I could find credible, knowledgeable and articulate people to confirm that the ULEZ Expansion due to come into force next August, is actually more harmful than beneficial, particularly at this present time.
