It’s a win for common sense! Some roads in Wales will revert to 30mph following backlash at the Welsh government’s £34m default 20mph policy, after a petition with nearly half a million signatures expressing anger at the scheme in September last year.
A couple of weeks ago, SNP’s Net Zero Minister, Michael Matheson, said that the Scottish government is looking to cut down car usage by 20% by 2030. He went further, and this is also in his Strategic Transport Report, that the era of catering for unconstrained growth in private car use is well and truly over. WHAT?!
Mazda launched a sensible, practical and comfortable high-riding family car in the Scottish Highlands some weeks ago. Stop. Just let that sink it. An SUV introduced in an area known for some of the best driving roads in the country – somewhere where typically you might think to launch a sports car as it would really be able to stretch its legs and demonstrate its abilities.
