2022 Rolls-Royce Ghost Black Badge Edition Review

Are you bad enough for Black Badge?

Are you filthy rich and villainous? Then read on. Otherwise, pfft, just go look at the ‘regular’ Ghost. You’re not quite elite enough to contemplate this lady in black.

About that though, the all-new second generation Rolls-Royce Ghost was launched last year, and in a major departure, unlike its predecessor, was based not on the BMW 7-Series, but instead shared its platform with in-house siblings, the flagship Phantom and the Cullinan luxury SUV. Admittedly, like those other Rolls-Royce motor cars, its power unit is from BMW (which owns Rolls-Royce), though it’s no less than a V12 engine with a 6.75-litre cubic capacity.

Kia EV6 Full Review

Full written and video review of the all-new Kia EV6 in both RWD and AWD guises

It makes sense. Korean companies Hyundai and now Kia, appear to be leap-frogging more recognised and established car makers in the race to create desirable, usable and quality electric cars. The 2022 Kia EV6 has just gone on sale, and is Kia’s version of Hyundai’s Ioniq 5 – kind of. Discrepancies in dimensions and battery packs, maintain sufficient distinction to present these as very different offerings.

Vauxhall Mokka Review

British Griffin mates with the French Lion to give us a stylish new compact family SUV

Forget the old Vauxhall Mokka, that was a rebadged Chevrolet Trax/Buick Encore which were built at the old Daewoo factory in South Korea. It was a competent enough car, but a bit mumsy. In 2019 Vauxhall, or rather its parent company, Opel (having previously divorced from America’s General Motors) was bought by PSA (the Peugeot/Citroen group). The new Mokka is the result of this new arrangement.

Ford Transit Custom Van PHEV Review

Check out my quick drive review of the Hybrid Transit van

Here’s my quick drive review of the latest plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version of the current Ford Transit van. We don’t normally review vans and commercial vehicles on this channel, but it’s interesting to get an insight into how far vans have come and developed in terms of ease of driving, noise vibration harshness (NVH) and refinement and quality. There’s a quick look at the space available, the front compartment, but mostly it’s about the drive and the something of a surprise reaction on throttle application! Should I review more commercial vehicles? Follow #BCGFordTransit

50 Years of the Lamborghini Countach [My First Supercar]

Reminiscing about my first Lamborghini Countach experience on 50th anniversary of the iconic supercar

In celebration of the 50 years anniversary of the debut of the Lamborghini Countach on this planet, I recount my first supercar experience from when I reviewed this 1983 Lamborghini LP5000S back in 1990 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia as a fledgling car journalist.

Kia Sorento Review

It’s big, it’s bold, it’s…bravely priced!

This is the all-new fourth generation Kia Sorento 7-seater large SUV. Forget the previous editions, some of which weren’t the best looking SUVs around let’s be honest. Forget what you remember of the quality of the early models. Forget delicate tech and fragile fabrics of history past. In fact forget everything you thought you knew about the Kia Sorento. Prepared to be wowed by the Korean car company’s latest offering.
