2024 has been a crazy year for the car world – it’s been madder than an Uber driver on an airport run during peak London rush hour, nastier than a two-day-old petrol station tuna sandwich, and more confused than a glitchy driverless Tesla trying to find its way out of a car park.
There’s been a lot of chatter about Nissan lately. Doom-laden headlines about financial turmoil, production cuts, and whispers of collapse have been doing the rounds. Some are even saying that the legendary Japanese automaker, the one responsible for icons like the GT-R, Z cars, and the mighty Patrol, could disappear within the next 12 months. That’s a big claim. Could this really be the end for Nissan? Well, not so fast.
While on a Nissan media trip to Portugal to drive the new 2024 Qashqai (review coming very soon) we were also given a presentation on Nissan’s future plans up to 2026 and beyond, particularly in regards to drivetrains. And it’s not entirely EV as you might think. Watch the video below, or read on.
