Yesterday brought us the 2024 Autumn Budget – the first budget from a Labour government in 14 years, and, excitingly, the first ever from a female Chancellor. While I’m no economist, as a motoring journalist, my job is to sift through the details and let you know what this budget means for us drivers. And here’s the big surprise: it’s actually not as bad for motorists as many of us feared! Yes, a collective sigh of relief was heard across the motoring world.
In this keynote speech, at the London EV Show today, London Deputy Mayor for Transport, Seb Dance, unveiled plans for five new ultra-rapid electric vehicle charging hub sites across London. Locations Revealed: State-of-the-art charging hubs will be located in Hanger Lane, Canning Town, Hillingdon Circus, Hatton Cross, and Tottenham Hale. Each hub promises at least six ultra-rapid charging bays, with a special focus on accessibility. Supporting High-Mileage Drivers: These hubs are strategically designed to support taxis, private hire vehicles, delivery drivers, and local businesses, encouraging a shift to electric vehicles.
