Mazda’s flirted with electrification before – remember the MX-30? Stylish, well-built, and charmingly unconventional, but with a range so short you’d start worrying halfway to the shops. Even Mazda later admitted it needed work, adding a rotary range-extender to make it more usable.
The BMW i4 is essentially the full electric version of the 4 Series. The M50, which I reviewed at Millbrook Proving Ground last year (which is to say I got to drive it hard around the close road circuit), is the top dog. Pretty much the M4 of BMW’s i-series saloons.
Get your headlamp alignment checked before you take your three-year old car for its first MOT as that seems to be the number one cause of failures.

I did a long term test with a Toyota Prius, running it for a month in Dubai. There’s a lot of skepticism about this car in our region, but the thing that’s important to remember about the Prius is that it’s not just a hybrid, it’s actually a very good, practical, enjoyable and thrifty daily driver.
