Every time I talk about how wonderful cars are some cyclists insists we get on our bikes
Cars Vs Bicycles – Time for a Rant. Some people suggest we should all just ride bikes. Bicycles are great, but they are not for everyone in every circumstance, and to make that assumption is naive, selfish, and unsympathetic. Here’s why.
Video walkaround and full picture gallery from yesterday
Check out my full walkaround and detailed coverage of key cars at the spectacular Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace – this was from my visit yesterday. Some iconic and unusual cars as usual with quicky things like a tiny Jeston’s style Peel, an Auto Union style Abarth, and some stunning rarities.
During my recent stint as host of the Tech Hub at the British Motor Show, one of the sessions we ran was ‘Is it the end of ICE?’. Not referring to the frozen crystal cubes dropped into a glass of some liquid refreshment, but the internal combustion engine of course.
Attended the last pre-ULEZ Expansion Car Meet by West London Classics today – kinda sad
This was West London Classic’s last meet before the ULEZ expansion kicks in on Tuesday 29th August, whilst the venue for this event is just outside the M25, most of the members of WLC are based in London and a very high percentage drive non-ULEZ compliant modern classics. So what will happen to car culture in London?
ULEZ Update – just five days to go and it appears all efforts to stop it have failed. Ministers have abandoned plans to block it, Scientists have been silenced and only the Camera vandals appear to be impactful.
I was commentating for Drivers Union at Festival Italia Brands Hatch [13 August]
Drivers Union – the UK’s biggest multi-marque supercar club – brought along some spectacular supercars to Festival Italia at Brands Hatch just over a week ago. I was asked to commentate the live demos with the latest Ferraris and Lamborghinis alongside icons such as the Magnum PI Ferrari, Miami Vice Testarossa and the iconic Lamborghini Countach! I also commentated on the exhaust sound-off, but don’t have a video for that. Here are walk around and live demo videos!

ULEZ Update – 2 Weeks To Go – Time for a Rant! Reminded of this by a phone call from LBC radio this morning – I was on for a few minutes with Nick Ferrari. We need to call for this to be delayed, to turn the next Mayoral Election (which is not far away on 2nd May) to be turned into a referendum. Let Londoners speak out. If they vote Sadiq Khan back in, then we’ll accept the result.
