Thump! The sound of a government-commissioned 258-page report on racism in the UK hitting tables yesterday. Smack! The sound of a slap landing on the poker faces of the perpetrators of this piece of pernicious propaganda. Well, the slap didn’t happen, but it should have, repeatedly. The baby Lexus SUV maintains luxury and quality, but is this the one to get?

Lexus has loyal customers, particularly in the SUV range. They appreciate the quality, comfort and high spec of the luxury range in the Toyota group. This is the baby SUV from Toyota’s luxury brand. The UX (Urban Explorer) shares its platform with the best-selling Corolla, Prius and most significantly the CH-R compact SUV. It has the same wheelbase as theCH-R, but is slightly longer and wider.

This BMW exists thanks to Toyota. Yep! BMW has had the Z1, the Z3 and even the Z8. Then they replaced the Z3 with the Z4, which subsequently got a successor. Soon though, the Munich massive lost interest and were looking to send the Zs to sleep permanently – ‘nobody buys roadsters anymore’ came the edict from the bean-counter department.

This is voodoo. This is jazz. There is magic within this little car

The Honda Jazz loves to riff, innovating with magic seats that mixed ample cargo height into the capacious cabin, through the simple idea of lifting its rear seat base for more room. For the latest fourth generation edition it’s playing a new hybrid tune – the only flavour you can have it in. A 1.5-litre petrol e:HEV which is like a hybrid of hybrids. It features innovation not so simple in concept, but still devilishly clever.
