Renault and Geely have just announced a joint venture to develop and build petrol, diesel and hybrid engines – going against the tidal wave of the EV Revolution. With potentially huge investment from Saudi Aramco for its $7 plan, headquartered in the UK – where sales for new petrol and diesel cars are planned to be banned in just 7 years’ time. Utter craziness or insightful genius? Does the ICE fightback start here?
It appears that EV sales are rocketing and market share is growing, but the heavy discounting and cutbacks in production tell a different story, one that could scupper the future of EVs and hurt the motor industry itself!
A taste of what’s to come at The British Motor Show next month – we had a go at Car Football with a host of TV and YouTube stars and Influencers including, Mike Brewer of Wheeler Dealers, Alex Kersen @AutoalexCars Curtis Pritchard @brostorquesupercars , Adam C @AdamC3046 , Scott of @Ratarossa , Sam Hard @Hardupgarage , plus @MotorAddicts and Paul Swift. No giant inflatable balls, Ford Fiestas or Vauxhall Corsas were hurt during the filming of this. Just kidding! They were mercilessly butchered! Huge crazy fun! And an amazing line-up of automotive who’s who!
Auto news update – revealing quarantine rules for damaged electric cars, how £40k cars are being given to mental health patients, AI-driven robotic arms in new electric car from China, plus new Mercedes CLE, who’s buying cars and farewell Fiesta!
