Review: 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser J250

Retro-Cool Legend or £78k Madness?

The new 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser J250 has arrived – and if you’re in the UK, this is your Land Cruiser. While much of the world gets the full-sized 300-series Big Daddy Land Cruiser, we get this slightly smaller, slightly leaner sibling, also known globally as the Land Cruiser Prado, or simply the Prado. But don’t dismiss it as the runner-up – because, frankly, by our standards, it really ain’t small, plus this might just be the best-looking Land Cruiser of the modern era.

The Roaches Have It – A Rant Against the World’s So-Called Leaders

The system is so broken that we need to reset, reboot, and rethink everything. But our last best hope could be no hope at all

Stop picking sides, think real hard, and you’ll come to the only truth on the table: we are not being led. We are being dragged, shoved, mocked, manipulated, and sometimes exterminated by a global cabal of narcissists, opportunists, and cosplay emperors.

With the latest spat between Trump and Musk playing out like a cross between WWE and the Jeremy Kyle Show, it’s clearer than ever that modern politics is no longer governance – it’s merely gladiatorial pantomime, broadcast in real time across TikTok and Twitter, where tantrums trend before the tea time news bulletins.

Saddam’s Lost Mercedes, a Gulf War Heist & a Car Thriller Author I Met by Accident!

When I stumbled upon a fellow car guy Indie Author debuting his first automotive-themed thriller, I simply couldn’t contain my excitement!

There I was, taking a break from b-rolling footage of the car-nucopia that is the Enfield Pageant of Motoring, strolling amongst stalls of tibits, car parts and tempting dinkies, while cradling a hot cup of coffee, when I nearly choked on my cheese toastie! Smack bang between sellers of Capri instrument panels and post-war grille badges, was a bloke with a book. His modest table and roll-up banner advertised a new novel, “It Can’t See You in the Dark” by Feroze Engineer. There was a car on the cover. And not just any car!

New Grand Tour Presenters Revealed

But will you actually watch it? This was a show created, after all, specifically for the Top Gear refugees, Clarkson, Hammond & May!

It’s official (well, sort of) – The Grand Tour is gearing up for a new era. The legendary trio of Clarkson, Hammond and May have finally driven off into the sunset for good (after that rather fitting Zimbabwe send-off), and now the rumour mill – nay, the internet – is buzzing with the announcement of their replacements. So who are the brave souls stepping into the shoes of one of the most daunting trios in Automotive TV history?

First Look: All-New 2025 Toyota Aygo X Hybrid

Small Car, Big Leap! BrownCarGuy Exclusive Walkaround Preview – Now with Hybrid Power!

Some cars are like that mate who’s always around, never causes drama, but suddenly shows up with a fresh trim, a protein shake in one hand, and talks about going green. That, in essence, is the new Toyota Aygo X Hybrid. I got an exclusive sneak peek at the car in Brussels, where Toyota unveiled this cleverly updated version of their best-selling city car – now fully hybrid for the first time. And yes, I filmed a full walkaround, which you can watch below.

Congestion Charge Carnage in London

The War on Drivers Just Escalated!

Here we go again. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse for London’s drivers, Transport for London (TfL)has proposed yet another stinger to your wallet – and this one might be the final straw. Under the finite wisdom of our Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, the Congestion Charge is set to be hiked from £15 to a staggering £18 per day from 2 January 2026. That’s a 20% increase, in case you’re counting – but don’t worry, there’s more to this tale of a convoluted tide of motoring misery.

Welcome to London’s Paywall. Because let’s be honest, that’s exactly what this is becoming.

REVIEW: MG Cyberster GT

The 496bhp Electric Roadster That’ll Make You Believe in MG Roadsters Again!

It’s been a long time coming, but I finally got my hands on the all-new MG Cyberster GT – and yes, it was worth the wait. I missed the launch, missed the press events, nearly missed this drive too, thanks to a temporarily closed track at Millbrook. But I’m stubborn (or mildly obsessive), and I wasn’t going to leave until I got my go behind the wheel of what is arguably the most important sports car of recent times!

Save the Manuals!

This is Our Last Chance – Only 82 New Manual Cars Left on sale in the UK!

If alarm bells aren’t ringing, they should be! An extinction-level event is unfolding right under our noses. And no one seems to be doing anything thing about it. According to new research from CarGurus, the number of manual gearbox cars available in the UK has dropped a shocking 57% over the past decade. In 2015, you had 192 new car models you could buy with a manual. Now? Just 82. That’s it. That’s your lot. Let that sink in.

Diary: I was invited to be one of the judges for the second Drivers Union Concours this weekend!

Plus my vids from the 2nd Annual Drivers Union Supercar & Classic Concours

This weekend, I was honoured to be invited once again to be a judge at The Drivers Union’s second annual Supercar and Classic Concours, held once more at Worth School in Crawley. Sy – the single-handed powerhouse who founded and runs The Drivers Union – had upped the game: more cars, more categories… potentially more work for us! So, in his infinite wisdom, he’d press-ganged a larger motley junta of judges and demarcated the brands.
