10 Million Penalty Points – Drivers Beware!

Here’s a stat that’ll make your foot twitch on the throttle:
British drivers racked up nearly 10 million penalty points last year. That’s not a typo — ten million!

Up from just 1.4 million in 2011.
Either the UK’s roads have turned into the Nürburgring overnight…
Or we’ve built a £1 billion stealth tax on movement, disguised as road safety.

Because these days, 96% of speeding offences aren’t caught by police officers — they’re caught by cameras. And with more 20 mph zones than ever, even doing 23 mph can turn a careful driver into a “criminal”.

In my video and blog, I dive into the real numbers, the tech, the policy creep — and why over-enforcement might actually be making our roads less safe, not more.

It’s not about defending reckless drivers.

It’s about calling out a system that punishes normal people for doing normal things behind the wheel.

So ask yourself — are Britain’s roads really safer?
Or are we all just living inside one giant speed trap with a cash drawer attached?

And when you’ve watched or read it — tell me what you think.
Were you caught doing 23 mph in a 20? Do you feel safer, or just stitched-up?

Let’s talk — because this isn’t just about cars.
It’s about Cars, Culture, and Conversations.
